Spring Cleaning

Good evening / morning dear readers.

I am glad to let you know that the lab is finally back online, with a fresher look, few backend tweaks, and more importantly some new directions and ideas. I’ll spare you the details for later. This face lift focused mainly on removing the clutter, smoothing the rough edges (literally) and bringing tiny additions on the functional side.

Since a big chunk of the tweaks were based on your feedback, I would like to thank everyone who bothered to drop me a line about some design issues. Talking about feedback, now you have one more option to interact with content beside comments: The heart counter!

It works almost the exact same way as any other “like” button à la Facebook. The stats are kept locally and would serve to better understand the preferences and expectations of KaishinLab readers. It is also a way to show some public love for the lab and help it thrive: every digit beside the heart icon is enough to power the site for 3 days. Alternatively, you can tweet about the content you enjoy using the newly added “tweet this” button in the bottom-left corner of every entry. Give it a try on previous posts, it works too!

This is it for this year’s spring cleaning! Now back to work.
