Africa was in the spotlight during the last world cup few weeks ago, but that might be just the beginning. In the not-so-far future, the cradle of humanity will likely steal the spotlight from Asia as an emerging economic power. As businesses are spawning everywhere, the challenge for designers to come with ever original and fresh logos will be getting harder and harder.

While we are still holding our breaths to see the outcome of the FIFA world cup finals opposing Spain to Netherlands, Brazil has already started preparing to host the 2014 competition.
Whether brazilians are going to make it is yet to be seen. The only thing we can be sure of is the fact that the next world cup will have one of the ugliest logos in the history of international football. Ever.

While the majority of submissions are outright lousy, some hidden gems would be serious candidates for a professional-looking corporate logo.

After watching the Adobe CS5 launch broadcast, I was quite disappointed with the new creative suite branding. As a matter of fact, I am not a big fan of the previous CS icons, and I have never kept them on my dock for more than few days before swapping them with more original sets made by awesome designers all over the place. This time around, it seems like they won’t even last 24 hours.
